Bheeshma Stuthi

 Bheeshma in a bed of arrows, sings the praise of God with Bheeshma Stuthi (Srimad Bhagavatam - 1.9.32 - 1.9.43).  When called by a bhakta, God comes so fast that his uttareeya is left behind (gatottareeya - Bheeshma Stuti). Shown here as draped loose and not tied securely as is normal.

Krishna had vowed that he would not take up arms and Bheeshma had vowed that he would make Krishna take up arms. But  Krishna breaks his own vow to fulfill the vow of his devotee.
